This is a repeat of a trip I really enjoyed with Anne and Sandra a year or two ago. We'll walk from Pisgah Rock carpark down to Erskine Creek. Once down at the creek we'll water proof our packs then then head off for a delightful 2.5km or so along the creek, which will include some longish sections of swimming, some rock hopping, and a little walking along the bank - perhaps we'll find some faint foot pads this time?. We'll exit via the well trodden Jack Evans track.

The old Blue Mountain passes have an amazing history of joining small settlements back before we all drove everywhere - imagine having to climb this to do your shopping! Come with me to explore these ones. They are not official maintained tracks so are reported to be a bit rough, scramblely and hard to find in spots - all the more fun! They are along the cliff edges too so you will have to be OK with heights and exposure Not long in distance but is steep and rough so Medium Hard

This ride will go from Bathurst to Hill End on the first night, a distance of about 55 kms. There are 2 campgrounds at Hill End with unpowered sites if needed. Food should be carried for the first night?s meal. The distance for the Hill End to Mudgee section is about 65 kms. There are tent sites at the Mudgee Valley caravan park. Woolworths is open normal trading hours on Easter Saturday and Sunday. The return trip will arrive at Sofala for Sunday night, a distance of about 84 kms. There is limited accommodation at the old Sofala Gaol, or there are campsites only 6 kms out of town on the river. Food should be carried. We can stop short at Ilford or on Cunningham?s Creek, which would make this day about 57 kms. The last day from Sofala is about 40kms, or 67 kms from cunningham's Creek.. The total of the four days is about 240 kms. I would book accommodation quickly as Easter is a popular time of year. Train travel is possible on Thursday night o maybe Friday morning.
